Glaucoma
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in Canada.
Glaucoma is an eye disease that can lead to gradual vision loss and potential blindness.

Glaucoma results from damage to the optic nerve which is the part of the eye that sends vision signals to the brain.
The cause of glaucoma is unknown however treatment with daily medicated eye drops or surgical procedures can maintain vision.
Anyone can get glaucoma but it most frequently occurs in people over the age of 40.
